UL Impact Resistance Test

- UL 2556
Equipment comprises an impact apparatus with a means to guide and permit the impact mass to fall freely without constraints for a minimum of 610 mm (24 in).
The apparatus shall be capable of maintaining the face of the impact mass perpendicular to the specimen at impact. The impact apparatus is provided with a locking mechanism that permits release from the specified height.
- A steel impact mass of 0.454 kg, 38 mm in diameter, and nominally 51 mm in length, with rounded edges.
- An impact anvil consisting of a solid rectangular block of steel nominally 200 mm (8 in) long,150 mm (6 in) wide and 105 mm (4.125 in) high, secured to a rigid support.
- A power supply 120 V ac, capable of indicating contact between the conductor and the impact mass or anvil. The circuit shall trigger and maintain the signal on any momentary contact.
