ISO 19642 Flammability Test
ISO 19642 Flammability Test
The Vertical Flame Test to ISO 19642 is designed to assess the flame-retardant properties on a single cable length.
- Test methodology requires a cable sample of approximately 600mm to be placed angularly between two clamps. A burner flame is then applied for the specified duration, igniting the cable. After the designated length of time, the flame is removed, and the cable should self-extinguish.
- The burner is complying to IEC 60695-11-2 and operated using flow meter console for precision air and gas control. The flame temperature is verified using copper block and 0.5 mm thermocouple to achieve the flame configuration – length of blue cone, overall flame height and flame temperature as prescribed in the test standard.
- The test is performed inside a fume hood supplied by SA ASSOCIATES.
